Martha Nelson, of Indianapolis and Living Word Christian Center, is in a nursing home after breast cancer surgery. The Colvers have asked for prayer for her as she's struggling with complications. Martha has asked for prayer for her family to come to the Lord; she's always concerned for others, never herself.
For MANY years she's been a faithful servant, dedicated to the Lord and Living Word.
Please remember to pray for her!

Neil Ferency is doing well after the surgery we asked for prayer about below. He and his wife, Barb, were one of the couples who went to Branson with us last week. He drove and went everywhere with us except the last evening when we went shopping - not one of his favorite activities. :)

Jimmy Hayes, Betty's cousin, called for prayer. He's in the hospital in Athens, Ga. Has to get his meds straightened out. Been in 3 days and nearly died.
Neil is home and recovering well. The doctor didn't have to do as much surgery as was thought.

Neil Ferency, a friend of ours here in Fairfield Glade, Tn. just learned he has colon cancer and needs surgery immediately. Please pray for him and his wife, Barb. Dear Lord, touch Neil's body with your healing hand and keep him and comfort Barb with only the peace You can give. In Jesus' Name!

Jack Fries called today asking for prayer for his son, Philip, for healing from lung cancer. He lives near Sarasota, Fl, but is hospitalized in Macon, Ga, in serious condition.
Many years ago, Philip was a student at the Institute of Ministry at Christian Retreat in Bradenton, Florida, when I was the administrator. His brother, John, also attended at another session.

Frank Reinheardt from the Baltimore area called today asking for prayer. He's plannig to start a Bible study on Saturday, Oct. 3, he expects to grow into a Living Word fellowship church. If possible, be praying for them when they begin their service at 7 pm. At any rate, please be sure to pray for them to find a building, the name of the fellowship and for God's presence and direction in all they do.
An answer to prayer today is a good report from my doctor today as to the progress on my healing for the surgeries I've already had. He was well pleased with my progress! PTL! Thanks for all your prayers!

Yesterday I got an e-mail prayer request from minister
Dana Ritchie. He's having to be separated from his wife for an indefinite period of time whild he goes back to Indiana to take care of his father who is suffering from dementia-related problems. He's requested wisdom, comfort and provision from the Lord as he works through all he'll deal with in the near future.
My skin cancer operations, 2 so-far, are healing nicely. I have at least 3 more sessions to go. The doctor isn't concerned about the spots, but there's always a chance he can be surprised, so please keep praying.

Yesterday I went to a skin doctor due to several spots.
I was told I have many spots of cancer which will have to be removed. I had several biopsies taken and will know the results next week. Please pray all will work out okay. (Dr. Arnie)
Our newest L.W. minister, Cora Travelbee, has been told she has cancer of the esophagus. As a singer, she didn't want that. Please pray they found it soon enough that she can get well.

Please pray for our nephew, Dave Gardella, of Michigan. He's seriously ill with multiple myeloma, a serious cancer. He has been fighting serious pain and weakness for several weeks.

We have found out that our son-in-law, Patrick, has been drinking and abusing his wife, our daughter Pam. He has a history of violence when drunk and spent 5 years in jail because of abusing Pam before. Two requests: 1) She'll realize Patrick may do serious bodily harm and report him to the authorities 2) That the Lord will protect her.
All the family is concerned, but our hands are tied, unless Pam will speak-up for herself. It is a serious situation.
Catlyn, who works with local law enforcement, has been advising and helping, but even she can't do much without Pam's cooperation. Pam has given and given, like a woman with Battered-Wife Syndrome. She needs to do something for her own safety.

Conference plans are going well. Please pray the conference will be well attended and a real blessing.

We're deciding whether to change the May conference from Milwaukee to Kenosha. It will involve a lot of cooperation and planning. Please join us in prayer that things will go into place and work out for God's glory.
Nov. 29
Today is Betty Smith's 80th birthday. Our grandson and his wife and 3 month old daughter visited along with Becky, Eric's other grandmother, and Betty's daughter and son-in-law and me (Arnie), to wish her a happy birthday. Betty's countenance lit up when she saw the baby and the baby smiled and cooed too.
Nov. 10
Betty Smith has lost over 40 pounds since being in the nursing home. They've stopped any therapy, as it wasn't working. She's unable to do anything for herself.
Nov. 2
Betty Smith's condition is still the same. She recognizes Arnie and her daughter, but is not coherent much of the time. She's really not with us, mentally, although she's still with us physically.
She's expected to stay at the nursing home until she goes to be with the Lord.
Re: Oct. 9 - the policeman died within hours of being hit. No other details are known.

Immediate prayer needed for David and Tammy, a police officer just hit by a car in Oconee County in Georgia with serious head trauma, not expected to live, as of 9 am.

Betty Smith's mind is still pretty well gone, most of the time. She has times when she makes sense, but very limited. The people taking care of her are very patient and kind.
Her daughter, Catlyn Vickers, has been a real blessing, visiting her nearly every day, as is Arnie.
Please keep the situation in prayer.
Finances will have to be sorted as well, due to the immense cost involved.
Sept 19
Betty Smith has been moved to a nursing home near her daughter's home, so she can keep a close eye on her. It is a long-term care facility and Betty is expected to be there for quite some time. Her condition requires extensive rehabilitation. Continued prayers are needed!

Betty Smith has been moved out of ICU and is
recovering slowly. Please keep her in prayer.
Sept. 5
Betty Smith, Arnie's wife, is hospitalized at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, with an aneurysm. She has a weak spot in a blood vessel in the brain, that began bleeding. Drs were able to fix it today, but say the next few days are critical.

Charlotte Rushing, of Tampa needs prayer about a decision she needs to make about whether or not to have surgery for an hereditary abdominal problem.
Aug. 5
Dave Fogderud from Beloit, Wisconsin needs prayer for his health. He has some abdominal cysts giving him some serious problems.

Mary Lee (DUCKY) Gens has a 60% hearing loss which is getting worse over time. She has had to step down from leading worship and singing, which she loves and is anointed to do. She's been to Mayo Clinic, and was told surgery could restore her hearing to about 90%. But it will cost tens of thousands of dollars, which they do not have.
Please pray and give so she might be able to resume the ministry to which she has been called. Make checks to Living Word International. Mark them for Ducky's ears. We'll make sure they get every penny given for that purpose. Thank you, in advance!

Pastor Terri Witte asked for prayer for one of her music students. Some students at her school were involved in a bus accident today, so she needs comfort from God.
Pastor Charlie Hansen of Holy Spirit Community Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin. They got turned down to purchase a building they were looking at. So he's asking us to continue to pray that they'll find the building God wants them to have.
