THE GOOD NEWS!

Everywhere we turn today we're subjected to bad news. As someone said, if it weren't for bad news we'd have no news. BUT have I got NEWS for you!!!

The BEST NEWS EVER, revolves around an event that took place over 2,000 years ago (talk about a nostalgia trip!). The God who created everything, including you and me, knew He had to relate to us in a TANGIBLE way so we could identify with Him and thereby desire to know Him.

Even though man's relationship with God was broken by Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden, God always desired fellowship with us - the primary purpose for our being created in the first place. So He made a way to break down the barrier and provide the way for us to re-establish a relationship with God.

Jesus, God's Son, came as a man so He could be visible and approachable to man. He related to us in every way. But, He also revealed God's power and His LOVE and made it AVAILABLE to us in a way that we can accept. By shedding His blood and dying and RISING FROM THE DEAD He paid the price required to bring us back into relationship with Father God.

Because of Jesus, we now can KNOW God - not only about Him, but personally relate to and interact with and even become like Him! We don't become gods, but THE GOD, The Lord Jesus Christ, comes into our hearts and directs our lives as we give Him our wills, and literally changes us from the inside out into the likeness of Jesus.

What must we do to take advantage of this good news? Glad you asked! Pray to the Father in Jesus' name, something like this, with your whole heart and He'll do the rest: "Dear Lord I know I'm a sinner in need of a relationship with God. Forgive me and receive me because of Jesus' shed blood. I believe Jesus is the Son of God and was raised from the dead to save me. Thank you Jesus for saving me right now! I promise that with your help, I'll live for you from now on. AMEN!"

For help with your new walk, contact Living Word and we'll be glad to assist you in finding a local church that will help you in your new life as a Christian (II Corinthians 5:17-21). God Bless you!!!!
